After the measurement has been completed, you will be given the opportunity to reject the
count. Figure 6-22 will appear and require you to validate and accept the count data before it
is permanently saved to the patient result file.

This is an opportunity to reject an incorrect count. To accept the data, select the
YES button.
To reject the data select the NO button. You will then return to the previous step in the count
sequence, and have the opportunity to recount. Note that this data validation step is required
after any count in the thyroid counting sequence to confirm the count data before it is saved.
Once the data has been saved, it cannot be deleted from the patient result file.
After the predose patient background count has been completed, the next step is the
predose patient neck count. Figure 6-23 will appear.

To measure the patient’s neck, select the
YES button. You must make at least one neck
measurement. For multiple repetition protocols, you may omit the second count by selecting
NO . To exit from the measurement process at any time without saving the measurement,
select Cancel . After the measurement has been completed, you will be given the
opportunity to reject the count. Figure 6-22 will appear and ask for data verification. Select
YES to accept the count and save the data to the patient result file, select NO to reject the
count data and return to the previous measurement in the counting sequence.
Once the predose measurements have been completed, the software will analyze the
predose data to verify that activity of the correct isotope has been detected. If no activity is
identified in the ROI which corresponds to the isotope chosen for thyroid uptake, then Figure
