Use the trackball indicator or the
Tab key to move from one text box to another and enter the
requested information. Patient demographic data includes Last Name, First Name, Middle
Initial, Date of Birth, ID, and Physician. Middle Initial and Date of Birth fields are optional and
do not need to be completed. You may enter any combination of up to 16 alphanumeric
characters for First and Last Names, ID, or Physician fields.
Once the patient demographic information has been entered, the testing information must be
entered under the Dose Data column. Cr51 will appear in blue, since it is the only isotope
selection for RBC Survival studies. Enter the lot number, calibration date and time, and
activity of the dose to be administered.
Enter the counting time in seconds. Counting time should be sufficiently long to allow 10,000
cumulative counts. 300 seconds is adequate for low activity samples. Enter the number of
repetitions required. The samples may be counted for one or two repetitions. When two
repetitions are chosen, each of the counting sequence screens described below will appear
twice. Each sample count will be labeled with the appropriate sample name, and Count #1
or Count #2. The counts will be averaged for each sample.
