Setup Mode screens are only available on the Sonic-Pro Model S3 and if the
Communications Board is fitted, they are available at the PC Software Application.
In the Setup Mode, the Sonic-Pro displays a series of menus and accepts user input to
navigate through the menu tree and set choices and values for specific leaf items. For
Model S3 , the display is local to the flowmeter and user input is accepted at the five
external front-panel buttons. In all cases, the Sonic-Pro will accept input from a
connected Sonic-Pro PC Software Application which replicates the appearance of the
Model S3 Display. Should the operator use both the front-panel buttons and the PC
Software, then both will take effect. The Sonic-Pro will monitor all physical connections
(RS-232, RS-485, USB and Ethernet) and send information on the connection on which
input last arrived. Thus, there is no configuration item to select the active mode of
communication (however, RS-485 and Ethernet have addresses that should be
configured).
All displays in
Setup Mode
use the
Setup Mode
Screen. This has a reverse-video
banner at the top, nine possible lines of text and the soft button labels at the bottom.
The function of the soft buttons and their labels will change when editing values, such as
numbers and passwords, and this is described in the following sections.
If the flowmeter enters
Setup Mode
and no input of any sort is received for a period of 5
minutes, then it will return to the S
tartup State
, from which the user can re-enter the
Setup Mode
, if desired (see section 2.5).
If power is removed while the flowmeter is in
Setup Mode
, then on restoration of power
it will attempt to activate the same
Configuration Set
as before, including changes
saved to that
Configuration Set
(but edits to the
Working Set
are lost). Should the
power loss occur during the saving of changes, the
Set
may be found to be corrupt upon
power up. In this case, the
Set
will be treated as invalid and the user will be unable to
select and activate it. The configuration data must be re-entered from scratch.
