Mechanical

Problem

Possible Causes & Solutions

DePar not dispensing correctly�

Cause: DePar container may be empty.
Resolution: Check the DePar container on the left side of the instrument and confirm
that there is sufficient DePar reagent. Under Tools-> Instrument Operations -> Drain
Waste & Prime Buffers, prime DePar until a steady stream is flowing through the DePar
probe into the Wash Station. If DePar is still not flowing correctly after priming 3 times,
call Technical Support.

AR/DePar not flowing correctly�

Cause: Ports in the manifold are obstructed.
Resolution: Under Tools-> Instrument Operations -> Drain Waste & Prime Buffers to
prime manifold with Aqua Rinse for 10 seconds, repeat as necessary. If AR is still not
flowing correctly, does not clear after priming 3 times, call Technical Support.

Probe or wash-blow head misaligned�

Cause: VALENT is out of calibration.
Resolution: Call Technical Support to calibrate the instrument.

Map of slide layout disappears once
the corresponding slide tray is removed
from the VALENT�

Cause: When a user is manually mapping slides, if the user removes the slide tray from
the VALENT, that particular slide tray will disappear from the Home Screen not allowing
the user to map slides. The slide tray needs to be loaded into the VALENT to allow slides
to be manually mapped in the software.
Resolution: Place slide tray back into the VALENT to allow manually mapping and wait
30 seconds for the Home Screen to reflect that the slide try has been replaced. Once
slides have been manually mapped, a Slide Layout Report should be printed so the user
does not lose track of where slides are located.

The reagent rack, slide tray, or system
lid does not physically unlock�

Cause: Mechanical issue.
Resolution: Call Technical Support. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO UNLOCK WITHOUT BIOCARE
PERSONNEL ASSISTANCE.
