– Audi RS6: Remove the bolts -1 and 2- and then press the
coolant pipe on the right to the side.
WARNING
Danger of eye injury.
♦ Wear protective eyewear.
– Place the -VAS6617- under the transmission.
– Remove the drain plug -arrow A- from the front final drive.
• Specified value: the oil level is correct when the front final drive
is filled to the lower edge of the filler hole.
Note
After repair or oil change, fill the transmission with approximately
0.9 liters of gear oil and wait at least five minutes, so that the
internal oil level between the differential and oil fill space can
equalize. Then check the fuel level.
If the level does not reach the bottom of the oil fill hole:
– Install the -VAS6617/6- with -VAS6617/2- in the transmission
hand tight.
– Install the -VAS6617- and fill the required gear oil. For the cor‐
rect gear oil specification. Refer to the Parts Catalog.
– Remove the -VAS6617/6- from the transmission and let any
extra oil drain out.
– Tighten the new drain plug -arrow A- for the front final drive.
– Install the subframe heat shield. Refer to ⇒ Suspension,
Wheels, Steering; Rep. Gr. 40 ; Subframe; Overview - Sub‐
frame .
– Audi RS6: Install the coolant pipe on the right side of trans‐
mission. Refer to ⇒ Rep. Gr. 19 ; Coolant Pipes .
