6.3 Control Register
The CONTROL REGISTER (0x04) is used to generate a SOFT RESET,
•
inhibit SYSFAIL generation
•
to enable A24/A32 memory access.
When the SOFT RESET bit is set, it should be cleared again with the next operation to the
DBS9900. No other operations should be attempted with the SOFT RESET bit SET, or a bus
error will result.

6.4 Status Register
The STATUS REGISTER (0x04) is used to read back the CONTROL REGISTER bits: READY,
PASSED, and VXI MODID. It is also used to detect that a daughter board is present and its
operational status. The Status Register has four additional bits added to the basic VXI functions.
These are read only. Two bits are used to indicate that a module is present (i.e. installed) on the
DBS9900. One bit is assigned for each possible module. If the module is present its
corresponding bit will be SET. This defines up to two modules per VXI Motherboard. Two
additional bits are used as DONE bits, one for each module. The Done bits will be duplicated in
the module STATUS registers for flexibility.
