3.1 Sample Clock and Timebase
The DBS9900 provides the required timebase (Reference Clock) for both installed modules. The
limits of the frequency range are 60Hz to 100MHz depending on the plug-in module.
An Internal Sample Clock may be used for either one or both of the plugin modules. Additionally,
independent External Sample Clocks can configured for each or both modules. When making
Sample Clock and Reference Clock selections, refer to the following table for guidance.
Clock parameters (frequency, thresholds etc.) are described in more detail on the next page.
3.1.1 Possible Clock Configurations
The table below lists possible clock configurations. If you configure the clocks for I/O 1 in a
certain way, that affects what are then clock configurations for I/O 2.

Note: The DBS9900 Soft Front Panel implements the most common, simple clock configurations.
To use a more complicated configuration (for example, for I/O 1 to use the Internal Sample Clock
and I/O 2 to use an External Sample Clock) the driver functions must be used.
