Software Release: cOS 5.00
• Solid red—battery power is critically low; connect to AC power source immediately
In addition, the
(Bluetooth connection status) icon on the
CATALYS®
System touchscreen
indicates the battery status, as follows:
• Blue—battery power is high; sufficient power for at least two treatments
• Partially filled orange—battery power is low; sufficient power for one treatment
• Partially filled red—battery power is critically low; connect to AC power source
immediately
NOTES
When using the on‐board battery to power the Mobile Patient Bed, the bed will wirelessly
connect to the
CATALYS®
System only when the battery icon is solid green. If the battery icon is
slowly blinking green or solid red, the bed must be connected to an AC wall outlet at the
CATALYS®
System installation site before wirelessly connecting to the
CATALYS®
System.
Once the Mobile Patient Bed is wirelessly connected to the
CATALYS®
System, initiation of laser
treatment is not permitted if the battery power is critically low. If the battery status icon on the
pendant is solid red or if the
Bluetooth connection status icon on the touchscreen is partially filled
red, the bed must be connected to an AC wall outlet before initiating laser treatment.
AC Power Connection
The Mobile Patient Bed is equipped with an AC power cord that is used to charge the on-board
battery by plugging into a standard AC wall outlet. The Mobile Patient Bed can operate on
battery power or can be plugged into an AC power source at the installation site when used with
the
CATALYS®
System.
The main power receptacle and indicator are located on the base of the Mobile Patient Bed. The
main power indicator illuminates when the Mobile Patient Bed is plugged into the wall outlet.
Control Electronics and Electrical Components
The control electronics and electrical components are located in a metal enclosure under the
Mobile Patient Bed seat and in the base.
Software
The Mobile Patient Bed includes three micro-controllers: for the bed, the control pendant, and
the joystick control. The software supports wireless communication between the Mobile Patient
Bed and the
CATALYS®
System (software cOS 5.00 or above). The Mobile Patient Bed is
independently controlled through the control pendant or joystick control. The software supports
pendant button input functions to tilt the backrest, footrest, and seat up and down; to adjust the
bed height (Z axis); and to return the bed to the home (X-Y center) position. The software
enables and disables some or all caster locks with user input from the pendant buttons or from
the foot pedals.
When wirelessly connected and positioned under the
CATALYS®
System, the Mobile Patient Bed
is a fully integrated subsystem that operates under
CATALYS®
System Field Programmable Gate
Array (FPGA) control based on user inputs from the Mobile Patient Bed joystick control.
