OPTIMEDICA

does not recommend specific clinical practices. The following precautions are

extensive but may not be complete. Users are advised to supplement this information with
technological advances in surgical products and techniques as they become available to the
medical community through medical literature.

4.2 Electrical Hazards

WARNINGS

To avoid the risk of electric shock, this equipment must only be connected to a supply mains with
protective earth.

Operate the Mobile Patient Bed using the on‐board battery if the integrity of the protective earth
conductor is in doubt.

Installation, maintenance, and repair should be performed only by

OPTIMEDICA

‐certified

personnel per the manufacturer’s recommendation and institutional standards.

Never open the protective covers or attempt internal repairs or adjustments not specifically
detailed in this operator manual. Opening the covers will expose personnel to high voltage
components.

Do not expose electrical components to liquids during routine operation or system cleaning.
Doing so may cause severe injury, including electrocution. If liquid is spilled on and/or around the
Mobile Patient Bed, press the emergency stop button to disable electrical power to the bed
motors before cleaning the spill. Allow the bed and/or surrounding area to dry thoroughly before
using the bed.

Properly route and secure the AC power cord (if used) and control pendant cord to ensure that
they do not become entangled, pinched, and/or severed during operation of the Mobile Patient
Bed.

Routinely inspect the Mobile Patient Bed components for obvious signs of damage. Do not
operate the bed if any of the components are damaged or if the cords are faulty or frayed.
