The control unit has three LEDs, a push-button and a sliding switch (Fig. 11):
Green LED
(Fig. 11B), continuous light if the main switch
is switched on.
If the manoeuvring tool is outside the range of the
remote control, this LED goes out.
Blue LED
(Fig. 11C) displays error messages relating
to the caravan battery:
Blue LED flashes (2x flash, pause, 2x flash, pause,
etc.):
The voltage of the caravan battery is too low (< 10 V).
The caravan battery needs to be charged up.
Blue LED flashes (4x flash, pause, 4x flash, pause,
etc.):
The voltage of the caravan battery is too high (over-
loaded). Try to discharge the caravan battery a little by
connecting a consumer (e.g. a light or the water pump)
Red LED
(Fig. 11D) flashes (6x flash, pause, 6x flash,
pause, etc.):
The overload protection on the manoeuvring tool has
been activated. Wait around 60 seconds and then try
again.
Generally speaking, all errors are reset automatically after one minute. If this is not the case, switch the
electronics on the manoeuvring tool and remote control off using the main switch for at least 15 seconds.
Then switch them back on.
The Reset button
(Fig. 11A):
The remote control and control unit are already synchronised at the factory. If however the remote control
or control unit are replaced, then they must be resynchronised with each other as described below:
1. Ensure that the electronic installation was carried out in accordance with the installation instructions.
Ensure that the drive rollers are not contacting the tyres, and that the caravan battery as well as the
battery of the remote control are in a good condition and adequately charged.
2. Switch the main switch of the manoeuvring tool on.
3. Switch the remote control on by moving the sliding switch (Fig. 9A) to the position “I”. The green LED
on the remote control (Fig. 9C) slowly starts to flash.
4. Press the Reset button (Fig. 11A) on the control unit. All of the three LEDs in the control unit (Fig. 11B,
11C and 11D) flash slowly.
5. Hold the forwards and backwards button on the remote control down for 3 seconds. The buzzer on the
remote control emits a brief sound as a signal that synchronisation is complete.
6. Following successful synchronisation, the green LED lights up continuously on the control unit (Fig.
3B) and on the remote control (Fig. 9C).
The single-axle / tandem-axle function switch (Fig. 11 E/F):
The manoeuvring tool is suitable for single-axle and for tandem caravans. The single-axle / tandem function
switch (Fig. 11 E/F) simply needs to be moved to the appropriate position. As a result, the manoeuvring
tool can be used for single-axle or tandem caravans (for the operation of 2 as well as 4 motors). In tandem
function, all wheels are operated, although with a different speed.
The default position for the switch is single-axle operation (Fig. 3S). To switch to tandem operation, simply
move the switch to the relevant position (Fig. 3T). As you do so, ensure that the battery disconnection switch
(29) is switched off.
Operation - start
Always note the safety instructions below before manoeuvring your caravan with the Ranger drive.
