Some parameters of the SET OPTIONS menu are safety relevant AND MUST BE
KEPT TO THEIR DEFAULT VALUE. This requirement is clearly stated in the list
below with the phrasing “(Mandatory default value)”.
1) SP FB DIRECTION
This option defines the direction (polarity) of the steering set-point.
-
ON:
For Pedestrian Electric Steering. Default option.
-
OFF:
For Platform Steering.
2) HOUR
COUNTER
This option specifies the hour counter mode. It can be set one of two:
-
RUNNING:
The counter registers travel time only. Default option.
-
KEY ON:
The counter registers when the "key" switch is closed.
3) DIAG
MOT
TEMP
This option enables the diagnosis of the motor temperature. When it is set to
OPTION#1 (Mandatory default value) and the motor temperature overtakes 120°, a
MOTOR TEMPERAT alarm occurs.
4) FRICTION
MODE
This option sets the control mode of the force-feedback device at the steering
handle (output CNA#10). Modes below are the basic Zapi implementations.
-
LEVEL 0:
NO FRICTION on the steering handle
-
LEVEL 1:
FIXED FRICTION.
- At traction speeds below SET TFD LTS, friction is defined
by parameters SET STEER MIN.
- At traction speeds above SET TFD HTS, friction is defined
by parameters SET STEER MAX.
- At intermediate traction speeds, friction is defined as a
linear interpolation of the previous two.
- LEVEL
2: PERCUSSION
MODE.
- Friction is speed-dependent as defined by parameters SET
STEER MIN, SET STEER MAX, SET TFD LTS and SET
TFD HTS like in LEVEL 1.
- In proximity of the steering handle limits (5° before the
limits), friction is set as defined by SET STEER MAX for a
time interval defined by PERCUSSION DUTY.
-
LEVEL 3:
Not used.
-
LEVEL 4:
Equivalent to LEVEL 2. Free for future developments.
5) FEEDB ON CAN
This option defines which piece of information is transmitted over CAN bus for the
traction controller:
-
OFF:
Steering set point. Traction can react to the steering set-point
(accelerate or slow down) right away, before the steered wheel
has actually reached the set point. Default option.
-
ON:
Steering feedback. Traction reacts to the feedback from the
steered wheel.
