4.3.12 Transparent Data Port
ADPRO FastTx supports transparent RS232 data transmission to/from ADPRO VideoCentral.
The port labelled DATA on the rear of the unit is the port used for this connection. This
functionality provides the capability to transfer an RS232 data stream from the ADPRO FastTx
unit to ADPRO VideoCentral, and vice-versa. This type of capability may be useful to support a
camera station that is not listed in the supported list for ADPRO FastTx, or controlling some other
industrial equipment at the remote site.
If a ADPRO VideoCentral user connects to a ADPRO FastTx with transparent data enabled, the
serial port is reserved exclusively for use by that user. Until that user disconnects, no other user
can access transparent data.
