3.2.4 Network (Ethernet) Connection
ADPRO FastTx has a built in Ethernet connection port to allow communications via a
conventional 'computer' network.

NETWORK
- (RJ-45 - Female) - Ethernet 10/100baseT
Caution:
To ensure correct network connectivity, please ensure ADPRO FastTx is connected
to the network before being powered on. This enables the ADPRO FastTx unit to
detect the correct network speed (10BaseT or 100BaseT).
The physical connection is a half-duplex, 10/100Base-T (100Mb) port, although the maximum
throughput of the ADPRO FastTx is around 5Mb/sec.
ADPRO FastTx is designed for use via a Cat. 5 cable infrastructure. The Cat. 5 standards define
cabling specifications and physical presentations. In short, Cat. 5 defines the use of 4 pairs (8
wires) presented on an RJ45 connection. Cat. 5 cable must be used for operation on a 100baseT
wiring system. The physical connections are:

Note:
ALWAYS consult with the IT or Network Manager for the network BEFORE
physically connecting ADPRO FastTx to the network.
A network address is required for correct operation over a network. Both the ADPRO FastTx and
the PC running the ADPRO VideoCentral software must have a unique TCP/IP address (referred
to as the IP address). A number of IP parameters may need to be entered to correctly identify a
ADPRO FastTx on a network.
Refer to
Ethernet Properties
on page 59 for details to configure the Ethernet Connection.

Audio
Audio functionality is provided via two connectors on the ADPRO FastTx. Audio options are only
available if the system has a sound card enabled. Audio to/from a remote site using ADPRO
VideoCentral is half-duplex, meaning that audio is only allowable in one direction at a time.
