Output Level
Adjusts the peak audio signal level (in dBFS) present at the digital output of the
HD digital output. The actual peak output levels are also indicated by the front panel
and/or remote GUI bargraph meters. This control can be adjusted over the range of
‑36.00dB to +0.00dB in 0.05dB steps.
After the signal has been processed by the HD Limiter it is possible to perform
some subtle equalization to do final sound‑shaping on the signal. Note that more than
one or two dB of equalization here (boost OR cut) can upset the precision of peak
control generated by the preceding peak limiter. Fortunately only very small amounts
of equalization change are required at this stage of processing in order to afford a
very audible difference.
