For either method of communications the baud rate of the PM3000 need to
be set up. To set the baud rate, press “Interface” on the PM3000 and the
press “Select” until “>RS232<” is displayed. Press “Enter” until the baud
rate screen is showing and press “Select” until the desired baud rate is
selected. Press “Enter” twice to leave the RS232 se t up screen. When
selecting the baud rate, the minimum recommended for IEC61000
communications is 19200 baud.
PM3000 to Equipment Under Test Connections
The PM3000 needs to be connected to the equipment under test to measure
both the voltage and the current. Even for fluctuating harmonics testing,
which is a current measurement, the voltage source is measured.
One easy way to connect break the conductor carrying the power to the
equipment under test is to use one of Voltech’s Break Out boxes. They
come with a variety of different outlet types and provide an easy way to
connect your equipment under test while making easy connections for
voltage and current.
