ETTING UP YOUR

IEEE488

INTERFACE CARD

Refer to the user manual supplied with your IEEE488 interface card for the

recommended procedures for installation and set-up of the card in your PC.

If there is any difficulty, the following brief notes may be of help.

IOtech Personal 488

•

Make sure that the card has been supplied with a software disk

containing the following device driver:

Driver488/NI

•

Before installing the Personal 488 card into your PC, make a note of the

following:

Type of card:

GP488B

IRQ level:

Set by jumpers on the card - factory default

setting = 7

DMA channel:

Set by jumpers on the card - factory default

setting = 1

Memory address: Set by switches on the card - factory default

setting = 02E1

•

Switch off the PC, and follow the instructions given in your IOtech user

manual to install the interface card.

•

Switch on the PC and start Windows.

•

Install the interface card driver software:

•

Insert the disk labelled ‘Driver488/NI’ into drive A

•

From the Windows Program Manager, using the mouse

Pull down the File menu

Click on Run

•

In the Run dialogue box, on the Command Line type
