When installing the Apex unit there are 2 keys factors in determining the polarity of
radio.
1. The installation of the waveguide
2. The mounting the Apex Unit to the antenna.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE WAVEGUIDE AND APEX ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY.
THE RESULTS OF IMPROPER INSTALLATION WILL RESULT IN TRANSMITTING AN
INCORRECT POLARITY IN VIOLATION OF THE FCC LICENSE AND LINK FAILURE.
Waveguide Adapter installation
First remove the protective tape that is covering the waveguide port on the Apex unit.
Next lubricate the O-Ring with the supplied silicone lubricant and place the O-Ring into
the grove on the radio unit. Place the Waveguide Adapter into the bore on the radio
making sure to align the waveguide opening to the same orientation as the waveguide
opening on the Apex unit. Do not disturb the O-Ring position. Attach the waveguide
using a Phillips screw driver and tighten securely.

INSTALLING THE WAVEGUIDE ADAPTER REQUIRES A SMALL DIAMETER
SCREWDRIVER WITH A PHILLIPS HEAD WITH A MAX DIAMETER OF .225 AND ABOUT
2 1/2 INCHES LONG
When placing the waveguide adapter onto the Apex ensure that orientation matches.
Figure 14 shows the placement of the waveguide adapter.
