7. Check the float fo r defective tab
and w o rn p in h ole, and also check
the float le v e r bracket and the float
le v e r pin fo r w e a r and deformation.
8. Check the needle valve and the
v a lv e seat f o r p r o p e r seatin g, and
also check the strainer f o r clog
and rust.
9. Check the pump plunger fo r de­
fective leather and dust c o v e r , and
also fo r w ea k sp rin g. A l s o check
fo r rusty o r clogged strainer and
the steel ball fo r rust.

10. Check the flange fo r crac k s , dam­
age on the fitting surface and de­
fective threads, and also check for
w e a r of the throttle shaft b o re and
damage of the idle adjusting s c r e w
s e a t .
11 . Check the throttle valve and shaft
fo r p rop e r operation and fo r ex ­
c essive play, and also check the
related links , arms and the springs
fo r w e a r and deformation.
12. Check the idle adjusting s c r e w fo r
damage of the threads and the
tapered end.

S p ecia l c a re should be taken on the
following items upon assembly and
adjustment.
1. A l w a y s re p la c e the gaskets o r
packings upon assem bly.
2. B e f o r e assem bling, clean each part
with gasoline.
3. A l l sliding o r rotating portion
should be coated with engine oil,
and be checked fo r p r o p e r o p e­
ration after assem bly.
4. A s the p rim a ry and s ec on d a ry
main jet diameters a r e different,
n e v e r install the w ro n g o n e .
T h e prim a ry main jet diameter is
sm aller than the se c on d a ry main
jet, and also the s e c o n d a ry main
jet is plated.
5. A l s o do not install the main air
b lee d er w r o n g ly .
T h e p rim a ry main air b leed er is
longer than the s ec on d a ry main
air b l e e d e r , and also the diameter
of the p rim a ry main air blee d er is
la r g e r than the s e c o n d a ry main
air b le e d e r .
