T h e bearing outer ra c e is secured
onto the bearing case by calking the
bearing case edge. A ls o the bearing
inner ra ce and the rotor are secured
onto the pulley seat by calking the
pulley seat end. T h e r e f o r e , the rotor
and the related parts of the fluid coup­
ling cannot be disassem bled.
T h e fluid coupling case is filled with
silicone oil, and owing to this o i l , the
fan is driven almost at the same r e ­
volution with the pulley when the en­
gine is operated at comparatively low
speed, but as the rotational resistance
of the fan increases at engine high
speed operation, the slippage occurs
in the coupling. Then the fan re volu ­
tion does not in crease ex c e s s iv e ly ,
and this not only avoid the unnecessary
engine p ow er l o s s , but also d e c re a s e s
the fan n o is e .
T h e w ater pump body is constructed with the thermostat c h a m b er, and the ro to r
is of a centrifugal type having six blade^s. T h e advantages are as fo llo w s ; it is
compact, the d eliv ery quantity is la rg e , and even though the outlet port is made
sm aller, the p res s u re will not in c re a s e , th e re fo re , it is quite convenient to p e r ­
form the temperature adjustment.
