8. A ssem b le the union fitting and the
strainer with two gaskets.
9. Install the p o w e r piston spring and
the p o w e r piston, then install the
p o w e r piston stopper.
10. Install the needle valve gasket and
the needle valve seat.
11. Install the needle valve , valve push
spring and the push pin, then a s ­
semble the float with the le v e r pin.
12. Adjust the float level using the
C arb u retor Adjust Kit.
T h e float raised position should
be 9.3 mm (0 .3 6 6 11) , and the
low e red position should be 22 mm
• ( 0 . 8 6 7 " ) .

13. A s sem b le the secondary throttle
return spring onto the fla n ge, then
install the secondary throttle shaft,
secondary throttle le v e r , throttle
shaft link and the secondary throt­
tle v a lv e .
A f t e r installing the throttle va lv e ,
check the throttle valve fo r p ro p e r
operation, then calk the throttle
valve retaining s c r e w ends.
T h e secondary throttle valve is
thicker than the prim ary throttle
v a l v e .
T h e secondary throttle valve r e ­
taining s c r e w s a r e longer than that
of the prim ary throttle v a lv e .

14. A s s e m b le the prim ary throttle shaft
onto the flange, and check the
shaft thrust play which should be
less than 0 .2 mm ( 0 . 0 0 8 " ) .
If the play exceed s the above value,
select the p r o p e r shim/s as listed
b e lo w , and install the shim/s at
one and/or both side/s of the p r i­
mary throttle shaft as shown in
figure 5-38.
