5. R em ov e the radiator wind guide,
and rem ove the radiator a ssem ­
bly with the fan shroud and r a ­
diator support dow nw ard.
6 . R em ove o r disconnect the following
p a r t s .

Back-up light switch lead w ir e s
(if installed)

B ra k e booster vacuum hose.
e . Front exhaust pipe.
f. P r o p e lle r shaft.

Speedom eter cable.

i . Clutch re lea se cylinder with
pipe.
7. P la c e an engine holder onto the
jack, and support the engine with
the j a c k .
8. Rem ove the engine front mountings
and the r e a r mounting bolt.
N ext, lo w e r the jack gradually,
and carefully re m ove the engine
with the transmission from under
the v eh ic le .
T a k e c a r e not to damage the other
components.
Disassembly
1. R em ove the flexible hose bracket,
oil co o le r tubes and the clamps
on c a r equipped with the T oyoglid e
Autom atic.
2 . R em ove the starter motor and the
transmission.
3. Stamp mating marks onto the clutch
c o v e r and the flywheel to relocate
the original positions upon a ss e m ­
bly, and rem ove the clutch c o v e r
and the clutch d i s c .
4. R em ove the torque c o n v e rte r a s­
sembly on c a r equipped with the
T oyo glid e Automatic.
5. If n e c e s s a r y , rem o ve the input
shaft front bearing using the Input
Shaft Fron t B earin g P u lle r 09303-
35010.

6. R em ov e the flywheel o r the d riv e
plate and the r e a r end plate, and
then mount the engine onto a w o r k
stand.
7. R em ov e the air pump, air control
v a lv e , air injection manifold and
the hoses on the 3 R - C engine.
8. R em ov e the oil level gauge, c a r ­
buretor fuel pipe and vacuum p ip e .
9. R em ov e the distributor assembly
together with the spark plug c o rd s
and the coil cord if not re m o ve d .
10 . R em ov e the engine mounting b r a c k ­
et front R H , fuel pump if not r e ­
moved and the spark plugs.
11. R em ov e the oil filter assem bly,
engine mounting bracket front L H
if not rem oved and the altern a to r.
12. R em ove the fan belt, w a te r b y ­
p a ss hose, and the heater w a te r
pipe o r hose on the c a r with the
h e a te r .
