retaining s c r e w s and the retaining
r i n g .
T h e retaining s c r e w s of the high
speed va lv e , choke v a lv e , both
prim ary
and secondary throttle
valves a re secured with an ad­
h esive, th e refo re , if these s c r e w s
a re rem o ved , calk the s c r e w ends
to prevent from loosening after
the valves a re assembled.

12. R em ove the idle adjusting s c r e w
( l ) with the spring and the slow
passage plug ( 2 ) .

13. R em ove the cotter pin (3 ) retain­
ing the throttle le v e r link, and r e ­
move the throttle shaft arm retain­
ing nut (4 ) , then re m ove the throt­
tle shaft arm (5 ) and the starting
throttle le v e r ( 6 ) .
14. If n e c e s s a r y , re m o ve the throttle
valve retaining s c r e w s , and r e ­
move the prim ary throttle valve
and the shaft.
15. If n e c e s s a r y , re m o ve the secon ­
d ary throttle shaft arm and the r e ­
turn spring , and rem o ve the throt­
tle valve retaining s c r e w s , then
re m o v e the secon dary throttle valve
and the shaft.

16 . R e m o v e the vacuum piston by pull­
ing out straight fo r w a r d using a
pliers .

17. If n e c e s s a r y , re m o v e the choke
valve retaining s c r e w s , and then
re m ove the choke v a lv e shaft and
the spring.
Inspection
Wash all the disassembled parts tho­
roughly in clean ga so lin e, blow the
fuel passages and the jets with com­
p r e s s e d a ir, and rem ove the dirt.
Wash the die-cast parts with a soft
brush, and w ash and clean the c a r ­
bon deposits around the throttle valve .
N e v e r use a w i r e f o r cleaning the
j e t s .
Check the following items, and if d e ­
fective, re p a ir o r replace as n e c e s ­
s a r y .
A i r Horn
1. Check the air horn fo r c r a c k s ,
s c o r e s and deformation.
2. Check the choke va lv e fo r p r o p e r
operation o r e x c e s s iv e play.
3. Check the p o w e r piston fo r w e a r
and fo r p rop e r operation .
Main Body
4. Check the body fo r c r a c k s , dam­
age on the fitting s u r f a c e , defective
threads and the jet fitting su rface .
