
Procedure
This test takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
WARNING!
PHYSICAL INJURY HAZARD.
Hot Surface. Use care when working around the heated
cover and sample block(s) to avoid being burned.
1.
In the
Main Menu
screen, select
Tools Menu.
2.
In the
Tools Menu
screen, select
Run Heated Cover Verification.
3.
Follow the instructions on the screen to perform the test.
4.
At the end of the test, select:
•
to print the results.
•
Save
to save the results to the USB drive.
The results are saved to the file heatedCover.txt.
5.
If the test fails, repeat the procedure. Ensure the:
• Probe plate is in the correct location. Probe 1 should be in well A5 during this test.
• Cables are not damaged (no nicks, cuts or crimps) and are securely seated in the digital
thermometer and in the instrument.
• Heated cover is closed.
• Results are saved or printed.
6.
If the test fails again, contact Technical Support.
Running the temperature verification
Use this test to verify that the average temperature for the sample block(s) is 0.25°C of the set
point temperature.
Required materials
The appropriate Temperature Verification Kit for your Veriti
™
Thermal Cycler model (see Table 7).
