• To create a new folder for the run method, select
New Folder
at the bottom of the list, enter a
name of up to 12 characters (no spaces), for the new folder, then select
Done

• To save the run method to the USB drive, select
USB
(available only when a USB drive is
inserted in the instrument).

to enter the reaction volume. (You can change this volume when you
perform a run with this run method.)

Set the cover temperature, if any:

to enter the temperature for the heated cover.

Adding a stage
The two types of run method stages are:
•
Cycling –
The steps in a cycling stage are repeated a specified number of times. In general, the
steps in a cycling stage are template denaturation, primer annealing, and primer extension.
•
Holding –
The steps in a holding stage are not repeated.
