Optionally, you can also change the settings for:
• User accounts and security (“Setting up instrument security and user accounts”
on page 33 )
• Idle state temperatures for the cover and the sample block(s) (“Setting idle temperatures for the
block(s) and cover” on page 39 )
• Durations for pauses and stand-by (“Setting time-outs”
on page 39 )
• “Shortcuts” to instrument functions (to be displayed on the Main Menu) (“Configuring main menu
shortcuts to functions” on page 40 )
Setting the IP address
Note:
If your instrument is not on a network, you do not need to set the IP address.
The IP address can be assigned dynamically by a computer on the network (using DHCP) or set
manually by entering a number in the
IP Settings screen.
Note:
Ask your system administrator if the IP address is assigned statically or dynamically. For static
addresses, you need to know the IP address for the instrument, the subnet mask, and the default
gateway.

In the Main Menu screen, select Settings Menu .

In the Settings Menu screen, select Admin Menu .
3.
In the Admin Menu screen, select Set IP Address .
4.
In the IP Settings screen, set the IP address:
• Dynamically – Select
Assign IP address dynamically (using DHCP) . A check mark appears
when DHCP is selected.
or
• Manually – Select
Static , then enter the appropriate IP addresses for the instrument, the
subnet mask, and, optionally, the default gateway using the numeric editor. Addresses are in
the form of X.X.X.X, where each X is a 3-digit number, from 001 to 255.

Select Done , then OK to save your changes and return to the Admin Menu screen.
