
Setting the instrument name
By default the instrument name is set to the instrument serial number. You can change the name to
something more descriptive. The instrument name appears in the
About the Instrument
and
Run
Report
screens and, if you connect together multiple instruments, in the
Select Instruments
screen.
1.
In the
Main Menu
screen, select
Settings Menu
.
2.
In the
Settings Menu
screen, select
Admin Menu
.
3.
In the
Admin Menu
screen, select
Set Instrument Name
.
4.
Select the field to enter the new name.
Names cannot contain spaces and cannot be more than 24 alphanumeric characters or, for
numeric-only names, 10 characters.
5.
Select
Yes
next to
Allow Remote Runs
to make the instrument available for remote runs (a run on
this instrument can be started from another instrument); otherwise select
No
.
6.
Select
Done
, then
OK
to save your changes and return to the
Admin Menu
screen.
Note:
If you edit the
Instrument Name
field, you can still view the serial number in the
About the
Instrument
screen. You can access the
About the Instrument
screen from either the
Login
screen or
the
Settings Menu
screen.
Configuring the instrument for a printer
If you want to print the run report, test results, and/or a run method, you must configure the instrument
with information about the printer.
1.
In the
Main Menu
screen, select
Settings Menu
.
2.
In the
Settings Menu
screen, select
Configure Printer
.
3.
Select the fields to set the printer's name and IP address.
4.
Select
Done
to save your changes and return to the
Settings Menu
screen.
Setting the date and time
The date and time appear in the run report and at the bottom of many of the screens on the instrument.
1.
In the
Main Menu
screen, select
Settings Menu
.
2.
In the
Settings Menu
screen, select
Admin Menu
.
3.
In the
Admin Menu
screen, select
Set Date & Time
.
4.
To set the date, select
Date
, then enter today’s date, using the format YYYY-MM-DD. The
instrument automatically enters the “-”.
