After your instrument is physically installed, you might want to connect it directly to a
PC or to a network. This section explains how.
Connect Directly to a PC
1.
Connect the instrument directly to a PC with an Ethernet cable. You can also use an
Ethernet Switch.
2.
Set up the instrument as described in this procedure. Choose
Manual IP
mode to
set the IP address manually. Be sure to set an address that is compatible with the
setting of your PC.
Note:
The default IP address of the PRISM monitor is 192.168.1.2.
Connect to a network
To allow network access to the instrument, you must set the IP address. Network
addresses can be assigned either automatically (DHCP) or manually. If your network
does not use DHCP, you must manually enter the address for the instrument. To get a
fixed address, talk to your LAN administrator. The default IP address of the PRISM
monitor is 192.168.1.2.
