Important Notes on Configuring Non-Capture Workflow
Actions on Multiple Server Systems
Live Capture server licenses automatically include an array license instance as part of
your purchase. When Live Capture workflows are created and executed, all Capture
origin action processes will run on their respective Live Capture servers automatically.
However, other services such as the Transport or Deploy service, can run on any server
with available resources for the desired service's action. The following describes the
best practices for configuring storage settings when using non-Capture actions.
Best Practice When Capturing to a Live Capture Local Media Drive:
When you are capturing directly to a Local Live Store that is set to a local drive letter's
folder, any workflow action immediately following the Capture Action will be processed
locally. For actions that do not immediately follow the Capture Action, it is best to set
“Run On Rules” that instruct the non-Capture action processes to run on the Live
Capture server where the media resides. This insures that the non-Capture action
process will run directly on the server where the media resides. See the “Configuring an
Action's Run On Rules” section of the Vantage User Guide for more information. CAP-

Best Practice When Capturing to Shared External Storage:
When you are capturing to a shared external storage location, such as a NAS or SAN,
you can allow other non-Capture action processes to run on any server with available
resources. In this case “Run On Rules” are not required. Your system will automatically
choose an available resource on any server that can run the required action's process.
Note:
Running Lightspeed Live Capture and Vantage together without array licenses
is not recommended and may result in reduced functionality.
