Theory of Operation
The printing cycle
The following illustrates the paper path in action.
Idle
In the idle state prior to printing, the thermal head is in its raised, standby
position above the platen. The pinch roller is positioned in its idle position away
from the platen. The pick roller is positioned with the flat sides of its rollers
facing down. The paper feed guide is in its closed position against the feed
roller. The paper clamp guide is in its raised position. The transfer roll is rotated
until the timing marks are detected, by the transfer roll mark sensors, that
indicate the beginning of the first color panel, yellow.
