7.8 Recording Synchronization
You can synchronize the multiple DS units to record data by connecting the proprietary
synchronization cables (Standard cable length is 1 m).
The slave units follow with a recording start of the master DS unit. When the maser unit stops
recording, the slave units stop recording also.
Recording start accuracy between the master unit and the slave unit is within one sampling clock.
Sampling clock of the master unit is used for one of the slave units.
Maximum Numbers of Units for Recording Synchronization
Two DS units (Master x 1, Slave x 1) can be synchronized for recording.
Merge Multiple Data Files
Optional PL-S1001 LX View program can merge the recorded data files which are synchronized to
one file. However; they shall be 2GB or lower each, and shall be lower than 128 channels total.
There is a delay at the salve unit when stopping since the master unit sends the stop command to
the slave unit, therefore the file size of the slave unit is larger than one for the master unit.
The LX View program merges the data of the master unit and the slave unit at the beginning of
their data, the stop point of the merged data is specified with the size of the master unit that
NUM_SAMPS keyword value of the header file is smaller.
Operation of Slave Unit
If you set the lower sampling frequency, the activities of the level display LEDs of the slave unit
are delayed by following the start recording of the master unit. Starting internal sampling in
synchronization follows the start of the master unit.
Proprietary Synchronization Cable
Turn off the power of the units to connect and disconnect the synchronization cable.
Disconnecting the cable while turning on the power of the units turns the slave unit power off.
When turning on the MAIN Power Switches on the rear panels with connecting the
synchronization cable, make sure to turn on the power of the master unit first, and then the slave
unit. When turning off, turn off the slave unit first, and then the master unit.
Synchronization Recording with External Trigger
Connect an external trigger signal to the master unit.
Stay at the REC STANDBY state of the units first for recording synchronization with the external
trigger.
Recording Mode Limitations on Recording Synchronization
The recording synchronization is available only when the recording to the internal HDD is
selected.
The recording synchronization does not support the endless recording.
Pre-trigger recording is not available at the recording synchronization mode.
Event marks are valid at the master unit only.
