About Header File Format of DS Series
Header files are ASCII-format text files containing information such as recording conditions.
Header files are based on the waveform-analysis software DADiSP format. Because the files are
in text format, they can be read by Windows applications such as WordPad or NotePad.
In a header file, each recording-condition entry is written on 1 line, with parameters separated by
a comma (,). The following shows an example of a header file, with the entries explained after
the file.
The keywords up to “DATA” are the same as a header file made in other models. However the
keywords after “DATA” are made according to each recorder’s supported features. From “DATA”
to “DEVICE”, each recorder records the common information specified by TEAC, although some
contents are based differently on the features supported by each recorder. Model-unique
information will be commented after “DATA” keyword.
Software can read the DS data files in TAFFmat format since there is the common part explained
above. "DEVICE" keyword following information does not establish an order, and "REM"
statements are repeatedly available for comments.
To avoid the possibility of duplicate keywords from other recorders, “DS_” is added to the front of
the keyword (except “DEVICE”).
