System Settings
Follow these steps to adjust System Settings:
1. Press the MENU button to display the menu screen.
2. Turn the jog wheel or move the joystick up or down
to highlight System Settings. Press ENTER.
3. From the System Settings menu, turn the jog wheel
or move the joystick up or down to highlight a menu
setting. Press ENTER.
4. Turn the jog wheel to change settings. Press ENTER.
Auto Power Off
Turn this feature on to conserve power when the PSD410
is not in use. When Auto Power OFF is enabled, the
PSD410 will power off automatically after 15 minutes of
inactivity. This includes the use of all top panel buttons
and knobs, and the remote control. This feature is
disabled during recording and playback. The default
setting is [Disable].
Backlight Timer
This feature saves power by automatically dimming the
LCD backlight after a period of inactivity. This includes
the use of all top panel buttons and knobs, and the
remote control. Settings include OFF, 2 seconds, 5
seconds, 10 seconds, and 20 seconds.
The default setting is OFF.
Recording Dimmer
When this feature is OFF (default setting), the LCD
backlight will not dim during recording regardless of the
Backlight Timer setting. This will save power by allowing
the backlight to dim during recording.
Battery Type
Setting Battery Type allows for greater accuracy with
the battery life gauge. Available options include alkaline
batteries (default setting) and nickel metal hydride
(NiMH).
Foot Pedal
An optional foot pedal can be connected to the Foot
Pedal input on the Left panel.
The following table describes the functions of the foot
pedal:

Performance
Play/REC <->Pause
During playback, press
the foot pedal to toggle
between Play and Pause
mode.
During Recording, press
the foot pedal to toggle
between Record and Record
Pause mode.
Play<->Recall
During playback, press the
foot pedal once to mark a
recall point. When the foot
pedal is pressed a second
time, playback will return to
the recall point.
Punch In <-> Punch Out
During Punch In/Out mode,
the foot pedal can be used
to set punch-in and punch-
out points “on the fly.”
The default setting is "Play/REC <->Pause.”
