Recording
Bit Size (resolution of the recording).
If Recording File Format is set for WAV, this option
will appear as Recording File Bit Number. If Recording
File Format is set for MP3, this option will appear as
Recording File Bit Rate. Increasing this setting increases
the resolution of the recording, but also increases the
size of the recorded file. The settings for bit number/
bit rate will vary depending on the current settings for
Recording File Format and Recording Channel Number.

Pre-Roll Time/ Post-Roll Time
During Overdub and Punch In/Out, it is often helpful
to add a time gap between the moment the Record
button is pressed and the moment that recording begins
(Pre-Roll Time). This added time allows the user to listen
to or play along with the accompaniment track before
recording. This allows for smooth transitions between
original recorded material and new material added
through an overdub or punch-in.
Adding a Post-Roll Time during Overdub or Punch In/
Out will allow the accompaniment track to play for an
additional amount of time after the user is finished
recording new material. Pre-Roll Time and Post-Roll Time
can be adjusted between 0 seconds and 10 seconds in
1 second intervals. The default setting for Pre-Roll Time
and Post-Roll Time is [0] seconds.
Auto Track Increment
Increment tracks at pre-set time intervals. Options
include: OFF, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15
minutes or 30 minutes. The default setting is OFF.
One Touch Recording
The PSD410 has the ability to bypass Record Pause Mode
and simply begin recording after the user presses the
Record button once. The default setting for One Touch
Recording is [OFF].
Auto Convert
The PSD410 is designed to be a “music practice recording
system.” The recorder is therefore capable of performing
a number of different audio manipulations concurrently,
i.e., simultaneous Tempo, Key, and Fine Tune adjustment;
Voice Reduction; Parametric EQ; etc.
To allow for this level of real time processing, it is
necessary for playback to be CD quality (16bit/44.1kHz).
When higher-than-CD quality (24bit) recordings are
made with the PSD410, a CD quality (16bit) version of
the file should be created for playback on the PSD410.
The original 24bit recording will be unaffected and
available for transfer to a PC for editing or playback.
To create a 16bit playback file automatically, select Auto
Convert [ON]. The default value is Auto Convert [OFF].
