Systems Port Nomenclature
Sun StorEdge Port Brocade Port Function
TL_Port L_Port Translated loop port/Loop port. This port enables
private devices to communicate with fabric or
public devices. In the Brocade switch, this address
translation is automatic. In Sun StorEdge
switches, the private device must be configured
on a TL_Port.
N/A U_Port Universal Port. This port can operate as an
E_Port, F_Port, or FL_Port. A port is defined as a
U_Port when it is not yet fully connected or has
not yet assumed a specific function in the fabric.
