7.2 Performing the Pump Unit Function Test
1. Select the following values at the pump:
• Nominal pressure: 150 mm Hg
• Nominal flow: 500 ml/min (max.value).
2. Press the Start/Stop key.
3. Open inflow valve at instrument. The pressure indicator has to display 150
mm Hg ±2 mm Hg after the roller wheel stops.
4. Press the Start/Stop key to stop the pump.
7.3 Performing the Balancing Unit Function Test
1. Fill outflow tube, stop and wait until no more fluid runs into the container.
2. Press the reset key to set the deficit and fluid usage (inflow volume) back to
0 .
3. Hold the hysteroscope into a container.
4. Press the Start/Stop key. The pump starts to pump.
5. Pump approx. 200 ml. The deficit display should show 0 ml.
6. Hold the hysteroscope into a measuring cup that is not placed on a weighing
unit.
7. Pump approx. 200 ml into the cup. The deficit display should show 200 ml.
8. Press the Start/Stop key.
9. Press the reset key.
7.4 Performing Function Test for Instrument Detection (ID)
1. Connect the required working instrument.
2. Fill irrigation tube and instrument.
3. Open the supply valve completely.
4. Hold the instrument for the duration of the instrument detection (approx.
12 seconds) at the working height above the apron.
5. Press the Start/Stop key for approx. 2 seconds.
• The instrument detection (ID) cycles 4 rpm levels of the pump for the
duration of approx. 12 sec. Start of the ID is indicated with a long acoustic
signal.
• Another long signal is heard and the irrigation fluid flows steadily after a
successful completion of the instrument detection process. The fluid
supply is interruptible only by closing the inflow valve or the instrument
detection is lost.
• In case of error or malfunction the actual display depicts ID.
The unit emits 5 short beeps.
The device switches to the Stop mode.
The actual pressure display shows the irrigation pressure.
Press the Start/Stop key to begin surgery or repeat the instrument detection
procedure.
Do not use this device if a defect is suspected or detected during the function
check. This also applies to obvious defects, especially defects on the power plug
and power cable.
7.5 Ending the Function Test
Press the reset key when the outflow tube does not transfer any more fluids into
the container, in order to set the deficit and inflow volume displays to zero. The
function test has been successfully completed. The device is now ready for use.
Position the device system as needed for the surgery.
