Description of knitting machine

Needle beds

Racking types

Home position The distance of the needles between the front and rear needle bed is half the

needle distance.

Home position of needle bed

There are 4 racking types:

front needle bed

rear needle bed

Home

First needle: On the left side, front needle bed
Last needle: On the right side, rear needle bed

Racking Type

Explanation

Needle bed racking
(Short

form: Racking)

The needle bed is racked by a whole-number multiple of a

needle distance to the left or right (example: 2 needles to the

right, VR2).

Half racking

During half racking the rear needle bed is racked by a half

needle distance to the right.

Transfer racking

During transfer the rear needle bed is racked by the transfer

value (3) until the needles of the front and rear needle beds

almost touch. The needle dips into the pelerine spring of the

needle opposite.
