Muting Alerts 3-9
External Alert Mute
To mute (silence) the audible alert externally,
e.g. from a central alert panel
or by a BAMS (sending of ACN message):
Actuate the external mute facility.

The audible alert indication is
muted (silenced).

The respective alert list is not
indicated, when an alert is exter-
nally muted (silenced).
The alert remains in the pending
alert state „ACTIVE SILENCED“,
until it either:
– is locally acknowledged at
the NAVIKNOT 600 SD CDU
(alert state ACTIVE
ACKNOWLEDGED),
– gets rectified (alert state
RECTIFIED UNACKNOWL-
EDGED), or
– escalates to an alert with the
alert state ACTIVE
ACKNOWLEDGED again.


Note In case a remotely muted (silenced) alert is still active and not acknowl-
edged after a time period set in the MUTE TIMOUT settings of the Service
Setup 600, the audible alert will again be raised.
