2-4 Power-up Sequence
Power-up Sequence with Software Mismatch
A software mismatch of the system may occur as a result of missing or
wrong software update, e.g. after exchange of the old type preamplier D,
5005, against the new type preamplifier D, 5029.
CAUTION
Risk of non-compliant System State / defective Alert Handling
Software update of the NAVIKNOT EU at least to version 3.000 and of all
installed CDUs at least to version
2.000 is mandatory for correct opera-
tion and alert handling of the NAVIKNOT system.
Operating the NAVIKNOT system with legacy software versions of the
NAVIKNOT EU and the CDUs (software mismatch) negatively impairs the
alert handling and causes non-compliance of the system.
Always make sure that the NAVIKNOT EU and CDUs are correctly
updated before operating the NAVIKNOT system.
Note In case of Software Mismatch, the NAVIKNOT system is in non-compliant
system state and the alert handling is not operable.
The NAVIKNOT EU and all installed CDUs must correctly be updated
before operating the NAVIKNOT system again.
Proceeding with operating the NAVIKNOT system in a non-compliant
system state is not allowed.
The startup screen is shown and a
system test sequence is executed.
A status line at the bottom of the
screen indicates the progress and
results of the following tests:
RAM test
I/O test
Checksum test
Setup Data test
After the system test, the indication
“WAITING FOR MAIN UNIT” may
be briefly shown at the CDU, while
the electronics unit initializes itself.
In case of software mismatch, one of two possible software mismatch
screens will be indicated, depending on whether the NAVIKNOT EU or
an installed CDU is equipped with a non-matching (legacy) software:
• EU Software Mismatch
• CDU Software Mismatch
