CAM Interface Settings
Note NAVIKNOT complies with the statutory requirements regarding a serial
interface for the alert management (alert presentation and acknowledge-
ment) by a Central Alert Management System (CAM) following IEC 61162
(NMEA 0183) and MSC.302(87) (BAMS).
Note The NAVIKNOT alert management via the CAM interface can be chosen
by selecting different NMEA messages within the Service Setup 600
RS422 Output and NMEA Input settings:
NMEA Messages ALR/ACK, or
NMEA Messages ALF-ALC-ARC/ACN (BAMS)
Note The selection of the NMEA messages for the NAVIKNOT alert manage-
ment may be chosen according to ship classification requirements and
hardware equipment during installation and must not be changed after-
wards when the ship is in operation.
Note For the usage of the serial CAM interface only ONE RS422 Output and
ONE NMEA Input shall be selected. To select both RS422 Outputs and
NMEA Inputs at the same time voids the CAM interface functionality.
BAUDRATE NMEA 4-6
Selects the transmit baudrate.
Settings: 4800 BAUD
Data is transmitted at 4800 Baud
(standard according to NMEA / IEC 61162-1)
9600 BAUD
Data is transmitted at 9600 Baud
(non-standard)
38400 BAUD
Data is transmitted at 38400 Baud
(high-speed according to IEC 61162-2)
