Updating the CDU Software via SUSI 9-9
13. In SUSI‘s update tab, click to initiate the update.
LEDs CR6, CR7 and CR22 on the electronics unit PCB will light up
alternately while the software is being updated.
The bargraph at the bottom of the screen indicates the progress of
the update:
14. Should SUSI be unable to communicate with the CDU, check the
COM port settings and the hardware connection, then repeat steps 8
to 13 above.

During the update, the CDU will continue to show the blank, respec-
tively black display indicating the software update mode of the CDU.
15. Upon successful completion of the software update, the following
message with transmitted bytes in brackets is indicated:
„Software successfully updated!“ (nnnn Bytes)

In case the message is not indicated, the software update is not suc-
cessfully terminated and the procedure must be repeated.
16. After successful software update, the NAVIKNOT 600 SD system will
automatically change to the normal operational mode on the base of
the new software version.

The NAVIKNOT 600 SD system will start up and correctly detect a
„Power-up Sequence with Software Mismatch“, as the new CDU soft-
ware does not match anymore with the software of the EU.

17. Get access to the Maintenance Menu 2 (CDU maintenance) by
directly pressing
ENTER
and
MENU
at the same time, enter the Service
Setup Code 140, select “CDU Versions” and press
ENTER
. Check the
CDU software version ID shown under „CDU SOFTWARE“.
