9-10 Updating the CDU Software via SUSI
20. Disconnect the RS-232 connection cable from the service port of the
respective CDU PCB (J2 at CDU 5002, J5 at CDU 5001).
21. Reassemble the CDU back cover.
22. To finalize the procedure, power down and power up the
NAVIKNOT 600 SD system.

The software update of the CDU is now complete.
23. In case more than one CDU is installed, repeat the complete proce-
dure until all CDUs are identically updated.

The "Updating the CDU Software via SUSI" procedure is only com-
plete when all installed CDUs are updated with the most current soft-
ware version.

When all installed CDUs are correctly updated, it is mandatory to
update the EU software to end the Software Mismatch of the NAVI-
KNOT system. See "Power-up Sequence with Software Mismatch" on
page 2-4 for details.
Proceed with:
"Updating the EU Software with a Flashboard" on page 9-11, or with
"Updating the EU Software via SUSI" on page 9-14.
18. Quit the Maintenance Menu.
19. Make sure to install the jumper at the respective CDU PCB
(jumper J1 at CDU 5002, jumper J6 at CDU 5001) in case it has previ-
ously been removed to mute the continuous beeping of the CDU
during software update mode.
WARNING
Risk of misusage
Operating the NAVIKNOT system with a constantly muted CDU (jumper
removed from respective CDU PCB) voids the alert functionality of the
system resulting in unsafe and non conformable operability.
Removing the jumper to mute the CDU is ONLY allowed to
TEMPORARILY mute the system when in software update mode.
Always make sure that the jumper is installed again, when the software
update is finalized. Never operate the NAVIKNOT system with a con-
stantly muted CDU.
