9-6 Updating the CDU Software via SUSI
8. Press the
MENU
button on the CDU, keep
MENU
pressed while simul-
taneously powering up the NAVIKNOT 600 SD system and quickly
release the
MENU
button.
This will prevent the device from powering up to enter normal oper-
ation and put it in the software update mode,

The software update mode is indicated by a blank, respectively black
CDU display and continuous beeping of the CDU.
If the NAVIKNOT 600 SD system enters normal operation mode, the
MENU
button had been pressed too long/released too late.

In this case, repeat step 8 to enter the software update mode.

The continuous beeping of the CDU may be TEMPORARILY muted
by removing the jumper from the respective CDU PCB
(jumper J1 at CDU 5002, jumper J6 at CDU 5001).
4. Plug in the RS-232 connection cable at the PC and at the service port
of the respective CDU PCB (J2 at CDU 5002, J5 at CDU 5001).
5. Start up the PC and execute the SUSI application.
