Acknowledgement of Alerts (ALF-ALC-ARC/ACN)
3-19
3.5 Acknowledgement of Alerts (ALF-ALC-ARC/ACN)
Note
From CDU and EU software version 2.100 on, acknowledgement of alerts
is possible from the alert main display page only.
Previous EU software versions allowed alert acknowledgement from any
display page without previous mute, as now considered not compliant.
Note
If a not muted alert is acknowledged from the alert main display page, the
alert is simultaneously muted.
Note
The NAVIKNOT alert management with NMEA message selection
ALF-ALC-ARC/ACN
differentiates between alarms, warnings and cautions as alert priorities.
The alert priority of the topmost alert and the total number of active alerts
are indicated in the alert display area of the main display.
Additional alert information as alert identifier (four digit), alert descrip-
tion and alert status are only displayed in the alert list.
Note
At the time of writing, only the alarm „SW mismatch“ exists for the
NAVIKNOT 600 SD system when ALF-ALC-ARC/ACN are selected as
NMEA messages (BAMS).
The alarm cannot be indicated at the NAVIKNOT CDU and is only trans-
mitted to an active CAM system.
Note
Cautions have always the alert state „ACTIVE“.
Note
If NMEA messages ALF-ALC-ARC/ACN are selected for alert manage-
ment, all NAVIKNOT alerts are category B alerts according to IEC 62923.
Note
The alerts within the alert list are ranked by current alert priority and alert
state.
In case the alert priority or alert state of a pending alert changes, the alert
list is immediately updated.
The indication of alerts in the alert list depends on how the alert list has
been called up:
if the
Enter
key is pressed, the alert with the topmost priority is always
indicated first (single action indication).
If the
Up
or
Down
arrow keys are pressed, the alert with the topmost pri-
ority is indicated first when the alert list is called up for the first time.
If the alert list is called up again, either the last indicated alert is shown
again (unchanged ranking of the alert list), or the alert with the corre-
sponding rank of the former alert is indicated first (updated ranking of the
alert list).
Note
When an alert has been acknowledged, the ext. alarm status output
remains active until the error cause of the alert is eliminated or omitted.
When the error cause of an alert is eliminated (RECTIFIED), the alert sta-
tus is NOT cleared and the alert is still shown on a flashing background
until he is acknowledged.
