New Sy stem S tart - Up and T esting
Avoid runn in g the system if the vessel is in contam inated water, such as in a d irty harbor or
canal. The system shou ld be ful ly run tested before leaving port. It is preferable to sacrifice a
filter by runn in g the system in turbid water rather than waiting to get offshore to discover a
problem or deficiency in the installation. If the loca tion or wea ther pr even ts proper testing refer
to the sec tion “Dry Testing.”
1. First Check That:
  Thru - hul l valve is open
  Run Manual/ Run Auto/ Flush Manual S w itch in “Run Auto” Position
  Domestic fresh water pressure syste m must be on
2. Open pressure relief valve 1/2 turn !
3. Power up the system to en ter “ Purge Mode”. Note: The watermaker will not run w ith the
pressure relief valve open unless it i s in “Purge Mode”. Instead it will restart twice and
alarm “System Stal led”.
  Alarm wi l l sound
  Disp lay w il l read “Open Pressure Relief
Now”, Ensure that it is open.
  Push the Alarm /Disp lay button to silence

Warning ! Da mage may occur if t he purge sequence is bypa ssed an d the me mbrane is
pressuri zed with storage chemical in it.
U se this procedure when starting a new watermaker for the first time and whenever the syste m
contains preservative or cleaning compou nds.
