Spectra High Pr essur e T ube Fitting Assembly
Use ONLY Dayco Imperial Nylo - Seal 88- NS R - 1/2 tubi n g for hi g h pressure con nections.
Carefully fit and measure the tubing before cuttin g wit h a sharp razor knife or hose cutter and remove
any burrs. Mini m u m tubin g be nd radius is 6” . Route tubing away fro m e xcessive heat source s and
secure from vibration a nd chafe. Have at lea st one shallow bend in a tube as sembly after it is installed.
Refe r to figu re 1. If a fittin g has been diss embled, reassemble a s illu strated. The notch on the ferrule
must en gage the inside of the nut properly for the nut to se at down fully. Once the tube is inserted the
ferrule and nut will naturally alig n.
Refe r to figure 2. I nsert tube fully into the fitti n g , it should go i n 0.9”. Tighte n t he nut fi n ger ti g ht w hile
movi n g t he tube around to prevent bi ndi n g. One th read should be showi n g unde r the nut. Secure the tube
so it won’t back out whe n ti g hte ni n g.
Refe r to figure 3. Use 13/16” wrenc h to hold a straig ht body fitti n g or a 3/4” wrench for a 90º body, a n d
a 7/8” wrenc h for the nut. Hold t he body, recheck the tube insertio n, t he n ti g hte n the nut 1 - 1/4 tur ns. Use
the inde x mark on t he nut as a guide. The threads should be completely covered by the nut.
Make Sure thes e fittings a re ti ght on initial asse mbl y or th e y will fail !
The co rrec t T o r que is specification is 85 foot pounds
Tighten 1-2/3 turns (10 flats of the
nut) with a7/8" wrench after finger tight.
