9 Arrhythmia Analysis
The
élance
Vital Signs Monitor provides enhanced arrhythmia detection and alarm
capability in addition to the standard and basic arrhythmia.
The following enhanced arrhythmia analysis is included:
Asystole
High Rate Violation
Low Rate Violation
Ventricular Fibrillation
Ventricular Tachycardia
Arrhythmia
Description
Pause
Couplets
PVC / Minute
Pacer Non-capture
Asystole
No QRS for 5 consecutive seconds in absence of Vent
fib or chaotic signal
Ventricular Fibrillation
A fibrillatory wave for 5 consecutive seconds
Ventricular Tachycardia
Five consecutive PVCs and rate of successive beats
over 60bpm
Pause
No beat detected for more than set pause threshold
Couplets
Two consecutive beat of abnormal morphology
PVC / Minute
Number of PVCs detected within the last minute
Pacer Non-capture
Pacemaker pulse fails to trigger QRS (paced patient
only)
Caution:
Any detected abnormal rhythms other than the stated arrhythmias (Asystole,
Low Rate, High Rate, Ventricular Fibrillation, Ventricular Tachycardia, Pause, Couplets,
PVC/Minute, Pacer Non-capture) will be labeled and added to the PVC count.
9.1 Arrhythmia Alarm
The arrhythmia alarms can be turned on and off under this control.
Steps:
1.
Touch
the
Monitor Setup
icon
from the Main Menu.
A Setup menu will appear.
2.
Touch
the
Clinical
from the Setup menu.
A Setup Clinical window will appear.
3. Touch
the
Arrhythmia Alarm Settings
key.
A Setup Arrhythmia Alarms window,
shown as below, will appear.
