3 Using the Monitor
Warning:
Keep patients under close surveillance when monitoring. It is possible
that radiated electromagnetic signals from sources external to the patient
and the élance Vital Signs Monitor can cause inaccurate measurement
readings. Do not rely entirely on the élance Vital Signs Monitor readings
for patient assessment.

3.1 Powering on the Monitor

A startup display, as shown below, appears.
Note:
a) A beep tone sounds when powered ON and during POST. This is an audible
confirmation that the speaker is performing properly.
b) If an internal problem is detected during POST, the monitor will display an error
code.
