Using Ink Aware features in Excel
Excel is Ink Aware, which means that it’s integrated with your interactive product. What you write
or draw on your interactive product’s screen becomes a part of the Excel spreadsheet.

To write or draw in Excel
1. Display the Excel spreadsheet you want to write in.
2. Write or draw on your interactive product’s screen.
The Aware Tools toolbar appears. Depending on your version of Excel, this toolbar either
floats on top of the program or appears with the program’s other toolbars.

N O T E
If the Aware Tools toolbar doesn’t appear, select View > Toolbars > SMART Aware
Toolbar .
3. Press
to insert your notes into the Excel spreadsheet as graphics.
OR
Press to insert your notes into the Excel spreadsheet as typed text.
OR
Press to take a screen capture of your notes and the Excel spreadsheet.
The screen capture appears in a .notebook file.
Using Ink Aware features in PowerPoint
PowerPoint is Ink Aware, which means that it’s integrated with your interactive product. What
you write or draw on the interactive product’s screen becomes a part of the PowerPoint slide
show.

To present a PowerPoint slide show on your interactive product
1. Display the PowerPoint file in Slide Show view.
The PowerPoint slide show and the Slide Show toolbar appear.
2. To display the next slide, press
Next on the Slide Show toolbar.
OR
To display the previous slide, press Previous on the Slide Show toolbar.
3. Write or draw on your interactive product’s screen.
