8.4.34 Level Platform Drive Belt [12573614] / [12574526]
Tools:
#1 Phillips screwdriver
3mm (1/8") flat-blade screwdriver
[12573614]: 6003L 175 teeth
[12574526]: 6003L 165 teeth
Part Location:
The Level Platform Drive Belt connects the level platform motor to the level platform (item 37 on
drawing 70909012, page 45, and Figure 8-19).
Procedure:
1. Turn off power to the antenna.
2. Loosen the four screws holding the level platform motor to the equipment frame (item 68 on
drawing 70909012, page 45, and Figure 8-19).
3. Slide the motor towards the level platform.
4. Unscrew the cable from the level platform and detach.
5. Unhook the old drive belt from the level platform motor and then slide it over the level platform.
6. Place the new belt over the level platform and hook it over the drive motor.
7. Adjust the tension on the level platform drive belt (loosen, adjust tension, tighten the four screws
holding the level platform motor to the elevation side pan).
8. Reattach the cable to the level platform and tighten the hold-down screws on the connector.
9. Turn on power to the antenna.
Diagnostics After Completing Repairs:
1. Perform tests of section 5.1, page 83, and observe the correct operation of the antenna, especially the
elevation and cross-level positions.
