8.4.32 Elevation Drive Belt [12573613]
Tools:
127 mm (5") diagonal cutters
#2 Phillips screwdriver
13.9cm (5.6") tie-wraps x 2
Part Location:
The elevation drive belt connects the elevation drive motor to the elevation pulley (item 15 of
drawing 70909014, page 44, and Figure 8-17, page 143).
Procedure:
1. Turn off power to the antenna.
2. Cut the two tie-wraps holding the drive belt to the drive belt pulley.
3. Loosen the four screws on the elevation motor bracket (item 44 of drawing 70909014, page 44) that hold
it to the equipment frame and slide the motor toward the elevation pulley.
4. Remove the old belt.
5. Place a new belt on the motor sprocket and slide the belt over the elevation pulley.
6. Replace the tie-wraps holding the belt to the elevation pulley.
7. Adjust the tension on the elevation drive belt (loosen, adjust, tighten the four screws holding the motor
bracket to the equipment frame).
8. Turn on power to the antenna.
Diagnostics After Completing Repairs:
1. Perform tests of section 5.1, page 83, and observe the correct operation of the antenna, especially the
elevation positions.
